Tinago Falls, Iligan City

Tinago Falls, Iligan City

The highlight of my side trip to Iligan City.Ohman! I was just astounded. Goodness! Iligan City is not called "The City of the Majestic waterfalls" for no goddamn reason. Tinago Falls is a beauty!!!  That made me love Iligan City more.. awwe.

From Mimbalot waterfalls, we rode a Habal Habal to Tinago falls which cost us 25php/pax.

Tinago falls used to have a resort, but sadly the resort had to shut down. Ruins of the old cottages, pools and other structures can still be seen in the area.

No entrance fee, you just have to log your name in their logbook.

20php for the life vest and 40php for the cottage.

The hike all the way down is all worth it. A local told me that it was more or less 450 steps! wow!  I just did that? haha

oh hai, dear Tinago Falls you are so so so lovely!!

THIS!!!! the splashing of water creates mist in the area. Tinago falls is a block waterfalls. It has an elevation of approximately 420 feet. the falls cascading beautifully into the the turquoise basin. clean and really cold!

It felt like I was in a fairytale movie. the place is surreal!

I managed to drag my two buddies to swim with me! haha
and I wouldn't let the chance to pass, We even rode the bamboo raft where we were maneuvered(char parang barko lang? haha) nearer to the falls. Minus the KC CONCEPCION drama. (referring to Forever and a day movie) Thanks to the friendly local for the blurry photos. chos! haha

bamboo raft ride: 10php/pax

I will surely be back here, the tiresome hike is all worth it.

I LOVE ILIGAN!!! :)

  4. I went to high school there in IIT, and back then, it was really hidden! We had to walk because there was no vehicle that can reach it. No resorts either, which we really loved. I'm glad to see it's still looks beautiful. I really miss the waterfalls in Iligan. Haven't been back for more than 10 years.

  22. This was the one I missed one on. We went to all three falls -- the parking lot lang for this one though and we toootally chickened out on this one. We were having such a full schedule and I had a karamay to be all prissy about going down and up the steps...

  26. It seems Tinago Falls is located remotely in Iligan City - riding the habal-habl to get there. I hope to get there one time.

  27. Makes me regret not being able to see this site when I was in Iligan before. Though it was a business trip, I sure hoped I did find time to squeeze it in.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I remember ol' friends from Iligan telling me how much more beautiful the surroundings of Tinago Falls was without much concrete structures :( Sana naabutan ko. Nonetheless, Tinago is still beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  29. How did you find it? I thought it's Tinago. :))

I think it's good that the resort shut down. I prefer my waterfalls to be in the middle of the wilderness with no cement cottages and restaurants around, especially since their architecture is ugly anyway. Let's leave those in Pansol. :p

Btw, some of your photos did not load. I also have that problem. What site do you link your photos from? And what do you think can we do about it? Sorry, biglang tech concern na to.

  30. May pagka-schizo talaga itong Photobucket. This time all images showed like there was no problem. KKLK! :)) Ganda ng falls. And the lagoon too.
