We hopped on a non-AC Yellow bus line to General Santos City, 1100h of January 03, 2013, a Thursday. Fare from Sulop to General Santos City is 95php only. There were many passengers that day so I had to stand for a quarter hour on the moving bus. Thank God I dint need to stand the whole trip, else Id be all grumpy when I arrive in General Santos City. When I got seated, I inhaled and kept pondering while enjoying the scenic views along the way. Everything felt so laid-back. The rolling mountains and hills looked perfectly beautiful. After an hour or so I noticed the Welcome arc of General Santos City, I smiled, knowing I'm already in the southernmost tip of my dear archipelago.
We dropped off at Robinson's Mall and met up with my long-time friend who's now based in General Santos City. Had our lunch, little chit chats and then went straight to our official home in General Santos, The Family Country Hotel. The sun was extremely hot that day so we freshened up and took a nap. My dearest kuya Avel then texted me to go to the City hall. I went there in a blink. (chos I came late. boohoo)
Our first day went by so fast, we roamed around the city just like the locals, spent an awesome night with the awesome-est bloggers in General Santos like a boss! Night life in General Santos City is fun and lively. We had our dinner at Krabby Patty's c/o Kuya Avel & Marz, then had our caffeine dose at Starbucks to cap off one great "First day" in GenSan. Their warm welcomes made me felt "HOME AWAY FROM HOME".
I love love love SM General Santos! Its super pretty! Pretty in a way, its different from the other SM's I've been to.
My General Santos visit wont be complete without visiting the Fish port where I saw gigantic tunas upclose!!!
On our second day, We went to Glan, Saranggani and basked into the heat the whole day. Arrived in GenSan around 5pm then toured the city on foot! I felt super secure roaming around GenSan. Ate our cheapo dinner then had a sumptuous Halo Halo in Razons! ONE of the yummiest halo halo in town!
General Santos City is beautiful. the foods, places and most especially its people. A bustling urban in the southern back-end of our tropical island. GENSAN is FUN! I truly had a great time in MAGANDANG GENSAN! More stories to tell in the coming days!
