Kalanggaman Island, Palompon, Leyte

One destination that is slowly gaining popularity from local and foreign tourists is Kalanggaman Island in Palompon, Leyte (Details on how to get there will be posted below) I've seen photos of this island from my facebook friends and I can't help but be amazed.

The island beckons a clear baby blue to deep blue water and fine white sand with some crushed corals. You can even spot reddish sand/crushed corals. So unique!

This island is perfect for photoshoot and I've heard there are already a number of Magazine pictorials that sets place here. Also, top luxury cruise ships like M/S Bremen of Hapag Lloyd Shipping Liner & M/S Europa anchored in the island, summer of this year (April & May 2013)

High tide but the vast stretch of sand bar can still be seen from our boat :)
what makes this island unique is its long sand bars in both side. Can be perfectly seen during low tide.

This side is made of pebbles than soft white sand.

A semi virgin island with minimal constructions (just nipa huts)

Beware of rip currents!

Quite and peaceful place! Perfect place for weekend relaxation. I love this place so much.
This place is just an hour and a half away from Malapascua Island. You can usually spot some foreign guests from Malapascua who includes Kalanggaman Island in their Island hopping destinations.

CLEAN AND CRYSTAL CLEAR WATER! Im inlove <3

Budol fight! Really good foods were served by Calle Zaragoza! :)

I love everything! Fish, pork ribs, pork belly, shrimps, Ensalada and fruits . (Except fish because I don't eat fish but I'm sure they tasted really good)  I can't really compare the bagoong to any bagoong out there. Honestly, its even better than my mom's version of bagoong. Sweet jesus,  Its the best!
