PINK MOSQUE - MASJID DIMAUKOM, DATU SAUDI AMPATUAN, MAGUINDANAO

From General Santos City, We traveled to Datu Saudi Ampatuan onboard the earliest bus ride at 5.30am. (Husky liner) Probably stopping on several terminals that I wasn't able to notice because I slept all along the ride. We arrived around 9.30 and proceeded to Datu Saudi Ampatuan Municipal Hall to look for their Tourism Office or Officer. Sadly, any of the two doesn't even exist. This place has a very strong potential in terms of eco-tourism.

Anyway, We were introduced to a Municipal Adminstrator instead. He Gladly accompanied us to the PINK MOSQUE aka The Masjid Dimaukom. From the Natl Hi-Way, you can see a glimpse of the stunningly PINK Mosque from afar. It is just a few minutes walk from the High-way.

I'm in COMPLETE AWE. Such a beautiful thing to behold. I have a thing for anything pink, its like a default that I'll like it right away.

HOW TO GET THERE:

Why PINK?  I asked Mr. Suharto. Its Hon. Samsudin Dimaukom and his wife's favorite color. For them, Pink symbolizes Peace & Harmony. From blush pink to hot pink. More so, I believe the deeper the pink, the more passion and energy it exhibits.

The Masjid Dimaukom

built and donated by Hon. Samsudin Dimaukom, the town's present Mayor. Located at the very heart of the little town of Datu Saudi Ampatuan in the province of Maguindanao.
Where buildings and other structures is pink. The Goverment trucks and other vehicles are also in PINK.
Its a PINK TOWN after all.

  2. The color is sickly sweet! It sure stands out from its surroundings.

And yeah, Maguindanao and the Ampatuan family name has really been tarnished already. Hopefully this helps in rebuilding Maguindanao's image.

    1. Sad tht peoplee tend to generalize the " massacre issue" when in fact its just in one little town in Maguindanao. Maguindanao is TOO big.

  5. The color is too cute. I'd really like to see it when it's complete! Media always generalizes everything. I hope in due time, Maguindanao's image will be rebuilt.
