What started as a joke turned out as a "call to action" an advocacy to #TravelMindanao. In less than 2 months (of daily chats, sleepless nights trying to organize the itinerary, remarks here and there) the group were able to push through with this project. Thus, the birth of #TravelMindanao. A call to action, to encourage and to entice every traveler to come and visit the land of promise.
8 travel bloggers, 8 major legs, 1 reason - 1 advocacy.
...and by saying "to travel voraciously", we mean it. We just did.
November 3, 2013, I took the bus from Bukidnon down to Cagayan de Oro. I spent 2 nights there before I traveled to Surigao City by bus on the 5th of November. The bus trip alone was thrilling and uhh draining.
Arrived around 4ish in the afternoon and there in the lobby, I saw, Doi of www.thetravellingfeet.com.
Hours later, the friendly staffs from the City Tourism office arrived and brought us to a lovely dinner of seafoods and Barbeque's. By dawn, Lisa, Jam, Alex and Glen arrived at our Hotel.
Kickstarting it in Surigao City..
We went to Silop Caves. Okay dont mind our outfits, we seriously didn't know we're in for some caving but who cares?A goodie 3 hours of caving in a "not-so-proper" attire was fun. We had a superb lunch and went straight to Day-asan floating village , checked out the Mangrove plantation in the area, went snorkeling and free diving. It was sunny then rainy and then sunny the whole afternoon. The bipolar weather didn't stopped these bunch of crazies...
but then the bunch of crazies must stop... stranded because of YolondaPH. Spent two days cocooning in our hotel rooms and another night at a friends house. (Nathalie's Homestay yoh!) Took advantage of the extra days to catch up with work, foodtrip and some kulitan time with the team.
We were supposed to visit Bucas Grande and Sohoton but the Resort we were supposed to stay protract some damage, no electricity, no water and such. The team decided to move to our next destination..

Lazy days in Cantilan...
Enjoyed some lazy downtime in our amazing home fronting the Pacific Ocean. (Thank you Cathe Pacific ) Braved the waves, cartwheeled the fine black sand, surf, sleep, eat. I Like Cantilan, its pretty laid back there and such a good place to spend lazy days in.
ZoraidaPH, who you?
After spending two nights in Cantilan we went straight to Bislig City, spent a night there and visited the Enchanting "Enchanted River" and the grand " Tinuy-an Falls" the next day. I found myself struggling to scale the depths of the river while the school of fish swam around me. Its mystically enthralling. This was the day I fell inlove with "Free-diving" and having THE Travelling Feet as my mentor is such a great honor. :P Tinuy-an Falls is also beautiful and pretty grand. It'd be much nicer if it didn't rain tho.
Pampered in Davao City.
Thanks to Marco Polo Davao for pampering us after days of transferring from one place to the other, hopping through buses and vans. I slept soundly it almost felt like home. We visited the Philippine Eagle Center and a day trip to Tagum City hosted by the ever friendly people of the Tagum City Tourism Office.

I was sick, I need to be home..
I've been really sick since we were in Cantilan and I am no wicked, I need enough rest and sleep. So I went home in Bukidnon while the team make one's way to General Santos City, Lake Sebu in South Cotabato and to North Cotabato. You see what I missed here? Yes?
They were enjoying a calm and tranquil environment in Lake Sebu and enjoying the cold water of the Asik Asik Falls while I'm slacking in bed and nursing a very bad fever. Poor Shugah.
Back on track..
After 5 days of resting I'm finally back on track. Met the team at the Summer Capital of Bukidnon, Lorega, Kitaotao. A night in Lorega before we move to the heart of Bukidnon, Valencia City where we spent 2 nights and visited the nearby attractions. Moved to Impasug-ong on a sunday afternoon and went waterfall hopping on dusk! Spent a night in a poultry farm in Impasug-ong and had a fun 6 hour river trek the next day.

Rafting in Cagayan de Oro City...
We then moved to Cagayan de oro, the City of Golden Friendship. Our five days there went by so fast. Days were spent food tripping and ofcourse, The famous white water rafting in Cagayan River! All thanks to Dan and The Kagay White Water Rafting team.
Only Alexander, Lisa, and our friend Caressa were able to join the Camiguin leg. Oh how nice it is to spend a goodie 2 days in an island born on fire?
Time flies so swiftly... After numerous hotels/hostels/homestays, different type of transportation --- Habal- habal/bus/jeep/trucks/vans all must come to an end. It was really a great time with these bunch. We may differ from one another but we get along pretty well and what bonds us best is our "wanderlust" and our love for Mindanao. We put our hearts to this advocacy in hopes to build a concrete online presence and to encourage people to visit Mindanao. Mindanao is not what you think it is. Trust me, Its paradise.
