Au revoir, 2017

I contemplated really hard if I should write this year-ender blog post or not. This year is full of sadness, failures, and just getting fat. Too much of a heart break to write-- or so I thought. This year may not how I imagined it to be but I'm grateful I'm luckily still here and about to welcome a new year.

I am not going to pretend, 2017 is the worst year of my life even if it went by quicker than a cape-wearing man flying in tights. It was unbearable and it greatly affected my whole 2017. Even when we make plans and all, life always has its own. Our family went through a really rough phase when we confirmed dad was very ill and after just two months, he finally have rested in the arms of our creator. I am faced with too much emotions and it's overwhelming and to say that I am still in pain is an understatement. My life went full bonkers.

I won't reel you too much on how depressing this year was for me, instead, I'll focus on things that I am grateful despite it all. Here's to looking back to better move ahead.

I did not worked as much as I used to but I am thankful I was able to keep a few gigs with me. As long as it brings food to the table, I'm good. I admit, I have to up my game and I can't be doing just this for the next year. I am just allowing my self to take everything slowly but I'm gearing my self up for more hustlin' in 2018. Watch out world, I'm about to unleash the super girl in me.

This may be a really tough year but blogging became my outlet and has been my source of joy. I don't write as much but I promise I'll do better soon. I am surprisingly more active with blogging this year than the past year. I met a lot of good people this year through blogging and people who extended their knowledge in blogging and not just people who are in it for the loot bags. I admire your kind hearts and passion.

I am grateful I was able to visit my favorite island, SIARGAO, this year and to have spent the trip with my close friends. It was a lot of fun. A couple of out of town trips here and there and a bunch of food crawls summarizes my 2017 travels. Life isn't all about travels for me. I am no longer the girl who can backpack for three months straight (WTF IS THIS BLOG WILL BE ABOUT THEN????????????????) but I am still hoping to see more of the Philippines and beyond in the next couple of months to come.
Once I get back on my feet. Once I'm ready.

I have come to realize that there are only two kinds of people; FAKE PEOPLE and GENUINE PEOPLE.  People aren't always what you want them to be. You can't just meet someone and expect them to be everything you are looking for. It's foolish.  Friendships can end for no certain reason. Over time, people come and go and eventually some long time friends will disappear and new people we haven't known as long fills the empty spot. This year really showed me all kinds of people and made me realized who to keep and who to uhmm leave.

I owe this year to all the people who heard me even when in silence, people who lifted me up through all the trying times, and people who never left even when I felt the whole fucking world turned a blind eye on me- when this so called life seemed to be crashing down on me. I'm still here because of you. I'm still trying because of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

2018, let me prove to you that I am indeed still my own damn sun, damn moon, star and sky.

all my love,
